Last Updated: July 17th, 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Caleb Burleson, the developer and operator of Fit or Forfeit (“Fit or Forfeit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Fit or Forfeit mobile application, website, and related services.

By using Fit or Forfeit, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect account information such as your name, email address, username, friend code, profile image, account preferences, and optional payment handles.

We may also collect workout entries, challenge participation, goals, progress, streaks, badges, group membership, challenge results, and other activity you create within the app.

When you voluntarily submit workout proof, we may collect the photos, videos, captions, or related information you choose to upload. If you enable notifications, we may also process a device notification token and notification preferences.

Apple processes App Store purchases. Fit or Forfeit may receive subscription status and transaction confirmation but does not receive your full payment-card information.

Apple Health and Fitness Data

With your permission, Fit or Forfeit may access eligible workout and fitness information through Apple Health to help record or verify activity.

Health access is optional and controlled through your Apple device. Fit or Forfeit requests access only to the data types needed for the feature you choose to use. You may decline or revoke access through your device settings.

Health and fitness information is not sold, used for targeted advertising, or shared with data brokers.

Camera, Photos, and Microphone

Fit or Forfeit may request access to your camera, photo library, or microphone when you choose to capture or upload photo or video proof.

These permissions are optional unless you attempt to use a feature that requires them. You can manage or revoke these permissions through your device settings.

How We Use Information

We use information to create and maintain user accounts; operate challenges, groups, friendships, progress tracking, streaks, and badges; record or verify workouts; provide customer support; manage Premium subscription access; deliver requested notifications and challenge updates; protect the security and integrity of the service; diagnose technical problems; improve Fit or Forfeit; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Optional Stakes and Payments

Fit or Forfeit may allow users to create or participate in challenges involving optional stakes.

Fit or Forfeit does not process payments, hold funds, transfer money, collect stakes, or settle financial obligations between users. Any stake is a private agreement between participants and must be settled outside the app.

Payment handles are optional and are provided only to help participants communicate or settle independently.

How Information May Be Shared

We do not sell personal information.

Information may be shared with service providers that help us operate Fit or Forfeit, including providers used for account authentication, database hosting, file storage, subscription verification, notifications, and technical infrastructure.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, protect users, investigate misuse, prevent fraud, or defend the rights and security of Fit or Forfeit.

Third-Party Services

Fit or Forfeit may use or interact with third-party services, including Apple Health and HealthKit, the Apple App Store and StoreKit, Apple Push Notification service, and Supabase for account authentication, database hosting, storage, and related backend services.

Participants may also voluntarily use external payment applications to settle optional stakes. Fit or Forfeit does not control those external transactions.

Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy practices.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Fit or Forfeit, maintain your account, provide requested features, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations.

Some information may remain temporarily in secure backups after deletion before being removed through normal backup-retention processes.
